Term One

Toy Story

This term, we will be learning about the history of toys and how they have changed since the Victorian times. In our Literacy, we will be labelling characters from the film, trying our best to use adjectives and also thinking about our own favourite toys. To link with our Science, we will be learning about the everyday materials that toys are made from.

This term, our topic will be based on the Traditional Tale, Jack and the Beanstalk. We have some very exciting activities planned. In D&T we will be designing and building a new castle for the giant and in Literacy we will be developing our sentences to write about the characters. We are getting very excited to see this fantastic story on stage when we visit the theatre at the end of term.

We will be looking at the snow monster and troll characters to develop a story in this fantasy world...how exciting!
Also, we are looking forward to learning about polar bears, penguins and looking at maps of the world.
