Striving to be the best we can!
It has been lovely to see the children come back to school ready and raring to go after a long, relaxing summer break and we are really looking forward to sharing the Year 4 learning journey with them. Our first topic this year is called 'Chocolate Utopia', where we will be exploring everything chocolate -related, culminating in a visit to The York Chocolate Story. A truly exciting start to the year, we're sure you'll agree!

In Term 1, indoor P.E. will take place on Wednesdays and outdoor P.E. will take place on Fridays. Please ensure that your child has their P.E. kit in school on these days.
From Week 2 onwards, the children will have Maths and English homework to complete each week. A homework letter will be sent home in the children's homework books, outlining the whole term's tasks. Homework books will be handed out on Thursdays and will need to be returned by the following Wednesday at the latest.
In addition to this formal homework, we ask that your child continues to read at home on a daily basis. In Year 4, they will still benefit from reading to an adult from time-to-time. Please remember to record your child's reading in their reading diary.
This year's educational trips and visits will take place as follows:
