Year 6 children, at Botolph’s CofE Primary School, held a CSI morning on the 23rd May 2016, as part of their creative and innovative learning. The day started with Sergeant Fletcher briefing the children on a fictional break-in and theft that occurred in one of the Year 6 classrooms. The pupils enjoyed investigating the crime scene and undertaking a variety of scientific and forensic analyses: evaluating the CCTV footage, checking for finger-prints and a footprint left on the scene, carrying out chromatography, using their microscopes to examine different hair samples (that were left at the scene of the crime) and interviewing the suspects to discover who the culprit was. At the end of the morning, the children solved the ‘crime’ and Sergeant Fletcher was able to ‘arrest’ the offender. Everyone really had an amazing morning!
