Expedition to the Peak District

On Friday 23rd March Year 5 went on the much-awaited expedition to the Peak District. The children were all very excited to see all of the places they had been finding out about and to use their new map reading skills.

Some of the walk was quite tricky and challenging as the children had to negotiate their way up and down some long and quite steep slopes. There had been some recent rain so the ground was very muddy in places. However, the children's attitudes towards the challenge were fabulous! The staff and parents who accompanied the children were all so impressed with their behaviour and enthusiasm. All of the children had a real sense of achievement when they finally arrived back at the bus ready for hot chocolate and biscuits.

During the walk the children were busy taking photographs ready to use in their documentary films they will be making next week.

Have a look at some of them below!
