The new Curriculum for 2014 onwards saw a few changes for music.
The main changes to be noted are as follows:


  • Each child will have the opportunity to learn to play a tuned instrument (KS1 xylophones/keyboards, KS2 Recorders)
  • A greater emphasis is placed on the teaching and learning of the history of music, including studying famous composers from historical periods.


We will continue to follow our scheme of music express and recorder magic, with added units where children are taught to play the tuned instruments such as recorders and keyboards.
Within history topics, the children will be taught about composers and music from that period.

If you are interested in purchasing additional music lessons for your child, we offer private music tuition for various instruments. Prices start from an affordable £3.20 a week for a shared lesson. At present we offer tuition in:









Please see the Ladies in the office for more information. Children who have lesson get the chance to practise and perform both group and individual pieces in our annual St Botolph's music concert. This event is always massively popular! Please see below some recent photographs.

Thanks to a generous donation from the PTFA we have been able to subscribe to the silver membership Lincolnshire Music service-this includes membership to SING UP which provides a super resource for children during singing worships and also in their topics.

We have also signed up to the music programme called CHARANGA which the children and staff are enjoying so far!
