Yesterday Year 5 went on a visit to Gainsborough Old Hall as part of our 'Terrible Tudors' topic. We had a fantastic day and learnt a lot about Tudor daily life and ceremony. The day was focussed on Henry V111 and Kathryn Howard's visit to the hall. The children were given roles to re-enact at our Tudor banquet, including being Henry and Kathryn themselves, Lord Thomas (the owner of the hall), dancers, guards, jesters, jugglers, serving maids, guests etc.
All of the children had, or were given, costumes to wear and they all looked very much the part.
