Victorian Day

On Thursday, our Year 6 children endured a horribly realistic day of Victorian lessons as part of their topic on Victorians! The children (and teachers) dressed up in their Victorian attire and were given Victorian names for the day! They even had their classrooms arranged in the old Victorian way in traditional rows! Lessons included handwriting, using blackboard and chalk as well as ink pen handwriting, arithmetic, poetry, authentic playground games and the ‘drill’ with their super-strict teachers who constantly reminded them that "CHILDREN SHOULD BE SEEN, NOT HEARD!"
