Visit to Lincoln

What a busy day!

Everyone loved the visit to Lincoln today - even the weather was kind to us!

We started the day by visiting the Lincoln Castle. Firstly, we began by learning all about the armoury used by the Normans, the invasion of the Normans and we were able to try on some of the replica items! Next, we had a banquet where we were able to sample some of the finest cheese and biscuits, apples, pears and grapes as well as freshly baked gingerbread men! What a treat!

Following on, we then visited the Victorian prison and luckily, no-one was taken into custody; we all behaved ourselves! Finally, the group watched the short video about the making of the Magna Carta.

The final part of the morning was spent walking along the castle walls, discussing the different parts of the castle grounds and admiring the views.

Second part of the day was ice-skating! :)

The children were all very brave and it was great to see everyone having a go at ice-skating. Well done Year 6!!!! Fabulous finish to the day!

A very special thank you must go the lovely parents and grandparent who came to support us; we couldn't have done it without you!
So thank you: Rhianna's dad, Neve's mum, George's mum, Josh's grandma, Hannah's mum, Abby's dad, Erin's mum and Chloe's mum. You are all wonderful!

Also, thank you to all the school staff that came too!
